7. Article

Kad ir jāveic procedūra, dzīvnieku sugu izvēle tiek rūpīgi apsvērta un, ja nepieciešams, izskaidrota atbildīgajai institūcijai; izraugoties procedūras, būtu jāizvēlas tādas procedūras, kurās tiek izmantots minimāls dzīvnieku skaits un kuras rada vismazāk sāpju, ciešanu, distresu vai ilgstoša kaitējuma, un kuras paredzams, sniegs apmierinošus rezultātus.
  1. a)) "animal", unless otherwise qualified, means any live
  2. b)) "intended for use" means bred or kept for the purpose of
